I thought a lot about this blog and the blog world. I really have mixed emotions about it and I have a different opinion with each mood I'm in. But I've finally decided that this blog is for me, therapeutic really. Being a parent is hard work. Some times I feel like all I do, all day, everyday, is clean up messes or I'm a mediator between siblings. This blog helps me see the fun side.
I was talking to a lady in our ward. Actually she was watching me...I was at a Baptism with all my children, Brad was conducting, and my children were the only ones there that weren't sitting still! True. (And it was a full room)I looked around and all five of mine were wiggling or crying. Savanah was having a melt down, Luke at the same time wanted to run around the room, Lucy didn't even want to sit my us, she sat by her teacher, begging for gum and Owen and Jaeger wanted to crawl around on the floor, the oldest ones. I've been taking Owen and the family to as many baptism as I can before he turns eight so he'll get a feel of what is suppose to happen. So I was there for him. For his own good and he was crawling all over the place. I was really losing it and out numbered.
And that's when I saw this lady watching me. Which makes the whole situation much much worse. so eventually she asked if she could hold Savanah so I could get Luke under control. So she rocked the baby in the back of the room and I was holding Luke in the back of the room. And she said something to me that has really stuck with me. Which wasn't that thought provoking, but still it caught my attention.
Basically a lady told her she had done some errands with her children. She went to the store, post office, and got gas. And it sounded like a normal day of errands, but then she added, let me tell you what really happened during that time and went on to say, someone had a blow out, this kid did that and this happened and it was really hectic.
That's totally my life!
Like I said sometimes I want to pull my hair out and seriously have a two year old temper tantrum!!!
Where am I going with this you say.... I'm not sure I'm just rambling on. My point is its fun to create this blog and see those cute moments you have with your children or post about experiences you had with your family. This blog instantly glorifies my life and everyone elses. I love it. After posting about Jaeger climbing up the tree and onto the roof. It felt better and it sounded better from here.
I gave my third and finial lesson this morning for visiting teaching,(so I've had time to ponder the subject) which was: The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches the reality of our premortal existence. We belong to a Heavenly Family, me and my children are apart of that. And no matter how crazy I feel or things get... its all good. There is purpose in things. Sometimes I am learning literally through spilled milk. And sometimes thats what it takes. but at times it is down right HARD.
and that is me thoughts. By the way... THANKS Joan W. for helping me during the baptism I really needed it.

I can totally relate, because I've been there, done that. And people used to tell me (Cathy Jex I remember in particular) that it doesn't last long, and then before you know it, they are bigger than you! And I know I used to think, yeah, right, that will take forever. But, you know what? It doesn't take forever, because now 3of my children are taller than me, and before long another one will be, and I haven't changed a diaper in too long, and having a baby that is now 6 years old and only wants to sit next to me during prayers to beat her brother to it, makes me realize how wrong I was. It really does go fast. Too fast. Enjoy the ride. Easier to say than to do, but it would be even harder to look back and wish you had.
Thanks for your thoughts. I enjoyed reading what does on in your life. Too often, myself included people are too afraid to share our feelings publically. It was nice to see where you get your strength from. My mother had five kids and I do not know how she managed us all, but we are all grown up now. If you ever need us to sit by you in sacrament and hold one of your little ones meeting we can totally be there! (at least for the next month)
We have all been there! It can be so hard thinking it is only you, but it never really is. Your kids are great and so cute, and you're a great mom.
Thank you Anne! That was very well put. I feel at times that we think everybodies life in under control and perfect - but I heard a funny quote once, "If you think someone else has it perfect, you don't know them well enough." Parenting is so hard, it is true, so thanks for your thoughts. We've all been there, where all kids are crying, running, or screaming out of control. But life is worth it! You're right - we're all part of an amazing plan, Heavenly Fathers.
Amen sister! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Love you Anne!
Anne-you are a magnificent Momma! You do amazing things. I love to read your blog and realize that we go through the same things. Hope all is well today. Me-I took a trip to the library will ALL the kids in tow. It was like walking an octopus without a leash. Yikes!
It has been many years since I had to give the eagle eye to daughters who were fighting on the front row while I played the organ in church. I used to get a headache imagining having to stop the opening hymn long enough to get to them and bop their heads together. Or something.
I love seeing all your little ones and greatly appreciate playing grandma to your sweet babe. Any time.
