Wed random thoughts

It Wednesday!
Why am I so excited about it? I'm not sure.
So here are the thoughts that are circling about up there.

1-I am seriously happy that my Dentist appointment turned out better than I thought. I went in thinking Root Canal, but, came out with just a re-do of a filling. Not bad, not bad. Since getting a root canal done (I thought those were only for old people by the way) it tampered with my view?? Thanks Pakiene for watching the kiddos (I don't think you read blogs?) But truly thanks!

2-If another person asks me if I'm pregnant I'm going to go BAllisTic!! Don't test me. I'm nice but can bite when provoked. I'm just warning everyone now. I am NOT!

3-Savanah insists on sitting on my lap when I am at the computer. I can sneak, distract her but she knows, she just knows. She'll hunt me down. She loves to draw. she jumps on the computer desk. Brad won't like that so don't tell him. hehehe

4-Savanah likes to dance with me while we listen to the blogs music. She cracks me up. Her moves are rusty and slow and its very good laughter for my soul. And I just thought she ate the end of the eraser. Nice.

5-My house needs help. Do you go through moods of not wanting to clean vs. spic and span cleaning??? I do. I usually get into the cleaning mood when someone shows up unannounced and I am embarrassed. That's like a good kick in the rear for me. If you every come over unannounced and see my house a disaster, please come over the very next day. You'll see..its much better.

6-Back to number 2. In my defence. (I hear crickets) I don't have one. The last night it happened to me (ya, its happened more than once before) I dreamt I was defending myself to her.

7- Wasn't our Relief Society Activity good. I miss my old calling. It was fun planning. Planning months in advance the food, activity, handouts, decorations, the lesson. Great Job last night Laura, Erin, Diane, Zanda, Kathy and Sister Bennion.

8-I have scouts this afternoon.

9-Tomorrow (I'm whispering now) is my 10Th anniversary hehehe. 10 years! I've been married longer than my Mom. WoW. AND tomorrow is Joan W. birthday. FYI

9-Well I think that's a wrap. nine things for the ninth of Dec.

Got to try this dip

To me, this recipe looked questionable. You know the kind.
I'm so glad I tried it because it was so yummy. Just make sure it's in a dipping bowl that you can grab the juices too.
Enjoy!!
Cowboy Caviar
1 (15oz) can black beans, drained
1 (12oz)can Mexicorn or shoes peg corn, drained
1 (12oz). can Ro-Tel tomatoes, drained slightly (I couldn't find this product so I didn't put any of this in)
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
6 green onions, chopped
3 tomatoes, chopped and seeded
Minced jalapeno peppers to taste (1 use about 2 T.) (Didn't add this either, but will next time)
1 T. garlic minced or 1 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. bottle Italian dressing
Combine all ingredients. Refrigerate at least 4 hours to combine flavors. Serve with tortilla chips like salsa.

Worst Play Date Ever!!

Lucy has a friend named Morgan. We had her over to play one day after preschool. From their my worst nightmare play date unfolds. I had been in the kitchen baking. And that feeling came over me that Moms usually get when something that's not suppose to be happening is happening. I walked into the bathroom to find locks of hair on the floor. Not, coming from my own daughter. Which in this moment is not a relief but total horror. I look up to find the friend, Morgan completely butchered. Everything inside me sunk; heart, stomach. Doomed. The dread of calling her Mom to tell her, her daughter is sporting a new hairstyle done by two 5 year old girls, giggling in the bathroom.

We have had this girl back over since the "clipping" so her Mom took it better than I had imagined.

Thank Goodness!

Since the last post

Luke thinks Morgan comes over to play with him.
Lucy thinks Morgan comes over to play with her.
And since she is right in the middle of them both,
thank heavens she likes plays with both.
We are extremely lucky. We get to walk through the most beautiful woods every day to and from school. And when its raining that hard Seattle downpour, we are under a canopy of protection from the towering trees above us. Its a highlight of my day. Who can say they get to do that now a days? I'm sure they are gathering great memories and tell future generations all about it.
A sea of leaves fell into our backyard from two very tall trees. People, we don't have grass we have leaves. Owen is in the doorway. Newman came to visit a while back. How thankful we are to have him in our lives. Brad and I and the kids enjoy his visits. We got to swim at his hotel pool. It was freezing cold. But (picture me flapping my fins at the computer table), we are part fish, so we had fun anyway.

The Cookie Exchange.
I hosted a cookie exchange last Thursday. Thirteen platters of four dozen cookies filled my table. That's 624 cookies!
We almost ran out of table space. This will become a tradition. This was the best party, because everyone got to take home all of these wonderful cookies. Thanks ladies it was so much fun. Can't wait to do it again with you next year!

Spaghetti Tacos

Tonight for dinner my children ate Spaghetti Tacos.
Yum, (not really) doesn't that sound yummy. We started eating and someone brought up that Spencer from the iCarly show l.o.v.e.s spaghetti tacos. And Owen jumps out of his seat "Mom, we have those. Can we try it?"
They loved it. I didn't try it.
They ate a really good helping of Spaghetti Tacos.
Anything to get them to eat.
These are just some fun photos.
Jaeger (2yrs 4mo) and Owen (3 1/2yrs). Lucy was four days old.
The boys outside in the hot sun enjoying a Popsicle.
Here is Lucy's Halloween costume this year.
You'd think I'd remember to take her picture after putting that together.

Hot Dog

The Hot Dog story
I picked up the boys from school and headed straight to Sams for a few needed items. When the boys realized I wasn't heading home Jaeger freaked out saying he was STARVING. The whole time walking through the store he kept saying to me "Mom, I'm so hungry." and then ten more steps "Mom, I'm so hungry I'm going to throw up" five more steps "Mom I'm serious I'm so hungry" So I rush through out the store grabing my needed three items and gave into letting him get a hot dog.
Owen grabs the hot dog from the guy gives it to Jaeger, he puts on a cup of mustard, climbs back into the cart and starts chowing. I fill up a pop, put on a lid and start walking out. I load everything and everyone into the car and realized Jaeger does not have his hot dog. "Jaeger, Where is your hot dog?" Shrugging his shoulders he said "I ate it!"
Sams hot dogs are huge, enormous things. He down it from the pop machine thing to the car. I guess he was right, he was hungry!
I just can't get over how fast he ate that thing.

October-in a blurrr

So here are my pictures from October. Can you believe its gone already. I've already started my November crafts and projects. We pass by these trees everyday as we go to school. They are so full of color and just beautiful. I wanted Luke and Lucy to notice them change from green, to yellow then orange, red and to drop. I guess I would mention them everyday because Jaeger says to me one morning. "Man, Mom you really do love those trees. Don't ya"
Owen, Jaeger and Luke recouping the day after Halloween. Some lady on our street gave out pumpkin balls (the big one in the picture) They look so happy.

Our Halloween night was interesting. Newman came into town just for the evening. The missionaries stopped by while I was picking Newman up from the airport. So, Brad knowing we can only feed the missionaries on Sunday and Monday thought up a plan to feed them on Friday by telling them a inactive member was going to be at our house for dinner and wanted to know if they would stay.
The miracle of the 5000 took place that night.
I wasn't expecting two hungry missionaries (missionary hungry is different than just hungry). I call it a miracle. We all had enough food to go around.
So this picture with Elder Dahl and Brad is pretty funny and will go down in the Redford History Books. A fire object lesson that went a little haywire. Ask Brad how bad the palm of his hand hurt as a piece of burning fire was on it! So funny.

Luke is showing signs of being potty trained. As of today three straight dry days and nights!!! We had to buzz his hair because he got hold of Dads electric shaver.

Owen, Tom, Andrew and Jaeger.
Hanging out while we watched them for the evening.
This is what you do at a house that has no DS or Wii available to play

Grandma Jac was in town this month. Inspired by Chanin M. making pillow cases with her kids. I let Owen pick out fabric while he tagged along with Grandma and I at Joannes. Of course he picked out some army print and Grandma helped him make it. What does a nine year old do with the scraps?? It helps them sew better.

Happy Birthday Owen.
The day before Halloween Owen turned 9. Two things he wanted for his birthday
a) a BB gun
b)a DS.
Plan b was out of the question. So we got him a BB gun.

What kind of flowers are these?
I need to know. These are a must for next years garden. I love the bright colors and the green leaves are so pretty. So, someone please tell me.

New House.

The backyard aka the selling point of the home.

Owen earned his Wolf in cub scouts. Good Job Owen.
